The Challenge Program
The Challenge Program has been in operation since 1992. It is an outdoor adventure program developed in response to the growing levels of social need specifically for young people that may be facing challenges in their life. The program has an early intervention focus and works with staff from Department of Education and children and young people between anywhere between the ages of 8 – 25 years. These participants come from various parts of Sydney. The Challenge Program combines the benefits of outdoor education, intensive group work and community partnerships. It helps participants understand consequences for their actions and challenges them to take responsibility for their life choices, as well as assisting them to form supportive relationships with peers and adults.
